Thank you for the recipe. It has so many possibiities.
I made mine with salt-free onion soup mix and with fresh onions since vidalia onions are in season and i bought so many! I used a tad less butter only because i didn’t have 1/4 cup and i used harissa-infused olive oil. The potatoes and onions turned out wonderful! i didn’t even notice it had no salt. The harissa oil added a pleasant spicyness. next time i might omit the butter altogether and just use the oil.
in the morning i used a few left over potatoes to make my husband an egg cup for breakfast to take to work. just mixed in some left over potatoes and onions, 2 eggs and microwaved it in the oven. put a lid on the cup and he took it to work. he said it was very good.
And it was so easy to make! Thanks again

Thank you for your reply about the potatoes and onions. I will try it, because I would not make a negative comment about it without trying first. Thank you again! Will let you know how it was. 🙂

I too noticed it seemed like a lot of oil. My diet right now wont allow for that so I might try it with butter and oil but use less. I am sure the combo of both is what gives it a fantastic taste. I will report back eventually. It looks spectacular though.
Hi, From the picture, it looks like the potatoes are sitting in oil? We do love potatoes and onions cooked together, but not oily. Can you please comment on this? Thank you, Margaret
Hi Margaret!
The potatoes are cooked with butter and extra virgin olive oil, giving it an amazing flavor. However, if this recipe is not your cup of tea, we understand that everyone won’t love every recipe. You can find many other potato recipes here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/?s=potato

Hi Marilyn-
We definitely know how convenient Instant Pots can be! We are working on testing our recipes in the instant pot, but with over 1000 recipes on the site it is taking us some time to get through them all. We do not put untested recipes/methods on the site, so we have to cook through everything that goes up. You can find a full list of all the recipes we have tested in the Instant Pot/ Electric Pressure Cooker here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/category/instant-pot/
Enjoy!!
