How to Make S’mores Pop Tart Dump Cake in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
This Pop Tart Dump Cake series all started with this Crock Pot Strawberry Pop Tart Dump Cake. You can find a list of all the different variations below. This Crock Pot S’mores Pop Tart Dump Cake is next up in these yummy recipes I am so excited to share with you!
So, I tried this recipe with mini marshmallows the first time. While it was wonderfully delicious, the marshmallows hardened up when it cooled. It was an easy enough fix to warm it up in the crock pot for a few minutes before serving each time, but I realized this would not be something that many readers would want to do. Cris had the idea of using marshmallow creme instead. It worked out beautifully!
If you would rather use mini marshmallows and warm it up before each serving, I’ll tell you how I did it. I put the S’more Pop Tarts on bottom. They were topped with the cake mix and thin butter pats. On top of all that, I spread out a bag of mini marshmallows. Then I topped with chopped graham crackers (make sure you leave them in larger pieces). The cooking time is the same whether you use marshmallow creme or mini marshmallows. Whichever way you choose to make this, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
