Budget Meal Plan

Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

For Budget Meal Plan: Week 18, I ended up using a few different ways to save money. I wanted to use main dish recipes that did not have a ton of ingredients in them as well as recipes that use ingredients that are not as expensive.

So, how did I do that? To start the week, we have the Crispy Slow Cooker Chicken recipe that uses a whole chicken and only has two ingredients in the recipe (and that count of two includes the chicken!). With only having two ingredients which are both inexpensive, it makes this recipe super affordable. It is also quick and easy to throw together, and so delicious. For the middle of the week, we have some comfort food that is easy on the budget with the Poor Man’s Beef Manhattan. It is absolutely delicious and called “Poor Man’s” because the ingredients are cheaper than your traditional Beef Manhattan recipe. Win, win. Lastly, we round out the week with Easy Creamy Crock Pot Pork. It is super easy to make, has great flavor and is cheaper to make because the recipe uses canned pork.

So, there you go! Those main dishes are sure to please you and your loved ones around your dinner table. I paired them up with some awesome side dishes as well. You can use my ideas or insert your family’s favorite sides. Whatever you decided, I hope you enjoy the meals in this meal plan as much as my family and I do!
