Budget Meal Plan

Meal Planning on a Budget

Aunt Lou here.

We are back with Budget Meal Plan: Week 6 this week. The money saving idea that I am planning this week’s menu around is using cuts of meat that are cheaper. We are going to have some bone-in chicken, cube steak and bone-in pork chops. So no matter what your preference of meat between chicken, pork and beef, we have you covered with at least one meal this week!

The Crock Pot Pork Chops and Cabbage recipe can be made with bone-in or boneless pork chops, so you can check your store to see which type of pork chop is cheaper. In general, bone-in pork chops are cheaper per pound than boneless pork chops, but if you can find some boneless chops on a great sale, feel free to use them.

Budget Meal Plan: Week 6

Monday: Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Legs with Crock Pot Bacon Baked Beans (If you have more than 3 people in your family, you will want to add more chicken legs to your crock pot so you can have leftovers on Tuesday. You will want to adjust the amount of bbq sauce as needed for more chicken legs. As always, watch it closely the first time you make it. With more chicken legs, you might need to cook them longer.)

Tuesday: Leftover Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Legs with (optional) new side of Creamy Ranch Crock Pot Potatoes

Wednesday: Crock Pot Cube Steak and Potatoes with Angel Crock Pot Creamy Corn

Thursday: Crock Pot Pork Chops and Cabbage with leftover Angel Crock Pot Creamy Corn

Friday: Leftover Crock Pot Pork Chops and Cabbage with Perfect Crock Pot Beans
