Easy Instant Pot Honey Pork Steaks Notes:
- The purpose of the trivet is to keep your meat off the bottom so it doesn’t burn on the bottom, but still lets the meat cook in the ingredients without the need for a bowl since this recipe wouldn’t fit in the bowl I use in my Instant Pot.
- It takes a bit for the sauce to thicken. Be patient, but also remember that it gets thicker as it cools.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
- Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.

My husband loved this. It was way to sweet for our daughter and me. Liked the suggestion in another post saying to add chili peppers and maybe some salt. The steaks were super tender. Also super easy to make.😁
Listen nay-sayers, we all have our own specific brand of, “yum.” This is a GREAT base recipe that you can elaborate on and make your own. I added Korean chili flakes, a little teriyaki sauce, and substituted Dr Pepper for cola this go-round. Last time I made it just like she said and hubs + kids loved it. Tonight, hubs + kids loved it and it had my favorite flavors too.
For real, I appreciate the great insta pot recipe (cook time, meat placement, and base ingredients)! Thank you so much for sharing and ignore the haters who think you have to cook just like them for something to be good.
I 100% agree with K Stark’s prior review. I was excited about the simplicity of this recipe but it turned out exactly as K Stark stated. The end result was edible but really bad. It would take a lot of doctoring to turn the end product into something good. The pork chops would need to be browned, tenderized, and the sauce would need a lot of additional spices such as salt.
I’m sorry you didn’t like this recipe. We understand that every recipe won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you find one that you love in our library of almost 2,000 recipes.
Hi. This comment addresses Shari’s question concerning an 8 Qt Instant Pot. The minimum amount of liquid for an 8 qt pot is 2 cups. I have an 8 qt pot and will be trying this recipe tonight. I will be using 2 cans of cola to address the minimum liquid requirement for an 8 qt pot.
I can hardly wait to try them!!!
I hope you enjoyed these as much as we do!
Can you make this with Dr Pepper instead of coke?
I haven’t tried it with Dr. Pepper but think it might work. It would change the taste but could be good. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
This is absolutely delicious! Only thing I did different was add more seasonings to the steak and cooked cubed potatoes above the steaks on a higher trivet in a steam basket. Definitely a keeper thank you.
Yay! I’m so glad to hear you enjoy this recipe! Thanks for letting us know. It makes our day.
My family loved this😋 I was a little skeptical about the whole cup of honey. But it turned out to be yummy. Will make again. Thanks for putting this on the site. It’s great when a recipe turns out right.
I’m so glad you and your family loved this! Thanks for letting us know. It makes our day.
This looks delicious! Is there a crockpot version?
Absolutely! You can find it here: https://www.recipesthatcrock.com/easy-honey-pork-steaks/. Enjoy!
I made them, and they were so tender and tasty! Thanks for the recipe!
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe! Thank you for taking the time to let us know, it really makes our day.
My husband just made this. Yum yum yum. Tastes just like BBQ ribs but with a whole lot of meat. Bone in pork steak is 99 cents per lb at this time. What a bargain! FYI: husband used commercial BBQ sauces. Half Carolina for some vinegar and sweet baby ray for sweet because that’s what we like. Traveling to Missouri for my in-laws anniversary and we will be making this. We loved it. Thank you for thinking out of the box to have ribs without the cost!
I’m so glad you guys enjoyed this recipe so much! I hope your in laws enjoy it just as much you do!
I tried making this, followed exact instructions but the pork steaks don’t get nicely browned like the picture and the fat does not look cooked, the sauce is also not this colour but a pale yellow colour, not nice and rich like the photo… was really disappointed, had to put the steaks in the oven to crisp off and try adding other ingredients to the sauce to make it edible 🙁
I’m so sorry you didn’t like this recipe K Stark. I’m not sure why yours turned out differently unless it is a difference in elevation. It sounds like at your elevation it may need more time. As for the color, I don’t know why it would have been a different color unless it was the difference in the honey.
We realize that every recipe won’t be everyone’s cup of tea and hope that you can find one that you enjoy in our over 1000 recipes!
Aunt Lou
Hi don’t you have to add water to the pot I have a 8 qt instapot
Hi Shari!
I made this in a 6 quart Instant Pot, so the 12 oz of cola was more than the 1 cup of liquid needed to bring it to pressure. I have not tried this with an 8 quart Instant Pot. I think the 12 oz would be enough to bring it to pressure, but you know your specific Instant Pot. If you feel it needs a little more liquid, I would make the extra liquid cola instead of water so that the recipe doesn’t get too watered down. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
