How to Make BBQ Chicken Pizza in a Slow Cooker

Aunt Lou here.

If you have taken a look around our recipes, you might have noticed that we love pizza. One of my favorite kinds of pizza is BBQ Chicken. Yum! So, I thought I’d give it a try in the slow cooker. It was awesome! You guys are going to love it!

Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Pizza Notes:

  • You can easily customize this recipe to your preferences. Don’t like peppers? Leave then off! Love olives? Throw them on there!
  • I like to sprinkle a little bit of cheese on top of the toppings. You can too or you can leave it off. Or you can switch up the order of how put the ingredients on. Mix it up as you please!
  • Looking for more recipes? Our Recipe Finder can help you find exactly what you need.
  • Check out all our favorite recommendations for cookbooks, slow cookers and low carb essentials in our Amazon Influencer Shop.
  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Ingredients

  • 13.8 oz refrigerated pizza crust
  • 2.5 cups chicken cooked and cubed
  • 1/2 cup bbq sauce
  • 1/2 cup red onion roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup green pepper roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup yellow pepper roughly chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan

Instructions

  • Lightly spray your 6-quart crock pot or Casserole Crock Pot with cooking spray and spread your pizza crust out, pushing the edges up the side of your crock.
  • Pour your bbq sauce on your crust and spread evenly with a spoon
  • Sprinkle your cheese evenly across the top, reserving a little to put on top of your toppings if you would like
  • Add your toppings and remaining cheese, if you reserved some
  • Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours, turning your insert halfway through if your slow cooker doesn't cook evenly. It is done when the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

Notes

With the Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Pizza, can that also be made in the 9 x 13 crock pot?

      Hi Marilyn!

I have made this in a casserole crock pot. Make sure you when you spread your dough out that it is not thick in middle and turn it halfway through cooking. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!
