This sandwich is the most loved sandwich in our house… mainly because it comes from Mikey’s favorite recipe of all time on the site: Crock Pot Mississippi Roast. See the video below of Mikey’s cooking show about the Mississippi Beef Roast. (Note: We use 3-5 lb roasts all the time, use whatever chuck roast you have available. We have also used various gravy packets over the years, any will work. Also, we no longer recommend using frozen roasts due to food safety concerns.)

Shopping List for Crock Pot Mississippi Beef Sandwiches

3 lb Chuck Roast
1 packet powdered ranch dip mix
1 packet powdered brown gravy mix
1/2 Cup stick of butter (plus more for sub rolls)
6 pepperoncini
French Fried Onions
1 Large Tomato Sliced
6 Sub Rolls

Notes on Mississippi Beef Sandwiches Recipe

  • The beef from the roast is very juicy, so toasting the rolls help keep the bun from getting too soggy. This is, however, a very messy sandwich to eat (although very rewarding for the trouble!).
  • Check out all our favorite recommendations for cookbooks, slow cookers and low carb essentials in our Amazon Influencer Shop.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Crock Pot Mississippi Beef Sandwiches. love this recipe. Can this recipe be cut down to a 1 1/2 quart or 2 quart crockpot?

I’m so glad you love this recipe! I have not tried this in a 2-quart slow cooker. However, if you hover over the blue number next to servings, you can adjust the serving size. This will adjust all of the amounts in the recipe to fit the number of servings. For the cooking time, I would think it would be similar. As always, watch it closely the first time you make it, so you know exactly how long it takes your unit to cook this. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes.

This was delicious! I left out the pepperoncini’s because we don’t care for them. I’ve made it twice and can’t wait to make it again!

Wow, delicious and easy!! I love those combos. I made a burrito with it instead of a sub bun and added some cheese and red peppers. Yummy!!!
