When the good folks atย Reamesยฎย asked me if I would be interested in partnering with them again to create another recipe using their Frozen Egg Noodles, I was super excited. (Note: This post was originally sponsored by them.)

How to Make Mississippi Chicken Noodles in a Slow Cooker

I have always loved the homemade-like hearty texture of their egg noodles and we use them in sooo many of our comfort food dishes. Holiday staples around here like our Slow Cooker Chicken and Noodles (and the Electric Pressure Cooker Version) and our Slow Cooker Beef and Noodles (and the Electric Pressure Cooker Version) are so simple to throw together when all you need to do is grab a bag of their frozen noodles out of the freezer. (Psst… if you want to check out a great non-crock pot recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup using their noodles, check it out here.)
The best part is that even though Reames is doing the work for ya, you still get that same great homemade taste. The Reames folks say that is because the freezing process (as opposed to the dry noodles you find on the shelf) allow them to use the same ingredients you do at home: Flour, Eggs and Water. So instead of thin rubber band-like noodles, you get those fork tender thick noodles that we all love! And, I LOVE that they hold up great when we add them to our slow cooker recipes.

Now… How about that recipe for Crock Pot Mississippi Chicken Noodles that I promised you.
You guys… we have done gone and married two amazing recipes to make an incredible dish. My whole family (and the neighbors we shared it with) are RAVING about this recipe. You know how crazy they are about all our “Mississippi” dishes… well this recipe takes those flavors to a WHOLE new level of comfort food.

I made the cubed steak with gravy, I had company and it went over very well. It was easy to make and teased great.
Oh my gooooodnesssss gracious! Yep, definitely making this one. It took me a while to figure out who in my area carries Reames but I did!!! So, no more failed “homemade” noodles for one of my top 5 homemade, comfort foods that are just so comforting – anything with good ol’ fashioned handmade, homemade noodles whether it’s beef, chicken, turkey, or just broth and noodles. I never got the knack, but now because of Reames, I don’t have to! Yummmm!
Just using a crock pot reminds me of home. The aroma of comfort that greets you when you open your door after a long day brings so many memories. I don’t think I could just choose one thing. From the holidays either something cooking or keeping things warm till all the guest and family arrive. Stuffing, green bean casserole, ham, mashed potatoes, Ham. Roast either pork or beef, or just a hearty soup or a bowl of chili. All brings fond memories
I know I am in the minority here but loved liver and onions my Mom cooked. I don’t make it myself because I don’t like handling the raw liver but sure do miss her making this.
My mom’s chicken and dumplings, and homemade rolls. They were the best!
Chicken and noodles. I just tried Reames noodles for the first time last week, and they are SO good. Will be my go-to noodles to purchase from now on! Tanks for using them as an ingredient in your recipes!
Mamaโs fried potatoes with Noodles and Tomatoes.
A great comfort food! My favorite fall & winter dish is a homemade family recipe meatloaf,
The recipe that reminds me most of home is a big pan of lasagna made with homemade sauce. My mom made it all the time for company…and would make a double recipe and put the extra recipe in loaf pans and freeze them for easy week night dinners.
My favorite holiday food has always been my Mom’s apple dumplings… DELISH! NO ONE makes them as delicious as my Mom!
We like beef and noodles in the crock pot. I’ve been making this for years. I live about five miles from where the Rheams noodles used to be made. They still have the business there. They’re the best!
My favorite recipe my mom would fix was her pot roast.
Homemade vegetable beef soup with hot water cornbread
I’ve been making sausage, taters and green beans for years ( PA Dutch recipe from my grandmother). That being said, I’ve never done it in a crockpot. Trying this recipe, so easy-peasy to make. I’ll let you know how it turned out! Thanks
My favorite recipe in a crock pot is my own four-bean homemade chili with beef. My favorite of my mom’s was / is her homemade crock pot beef stew. Of course, the kicker is a good helping of homemade southern style cornbread to go with either.
My favorite recipe was homemade noodles served over mashed potatoes. My great-aunt used to make these from scratch & they were the best!
My mother used to make a casserole that had hamburger, green beans, and tomato soup under a thick layer of mashed potatoes. It was always what I requested for my birthday dinner.
Recipes that remind me of home? Let’s see. Mom grew up in an Italian household. Her parents came over here through Ellis Island from Italy but they didn’t meet until they lived in America. We lived in those days in a 2 family house, they lived upstairs. Mom made lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and a recipe for Pasta Fagioli that my grandmother changed so my mom’s new husband would like it so there was meat in it because it was just beans and macaroni and my dad wanted some meat, and no tomato sauce because my dad wanted to know why everything Italians cook had to have red sauce in it. When my mom changed it for him, he loved it and we ate it quite a bit. It’s been a family favorite ever since. Dad just passed away this March and he was on a feeding tube for 3 years but before that, he still loved it when mom made it. When I see it on a restaurant menu or in a can because it’s supposed to be like a soup, I think, my mom’s recipe is way better. It was a staple in a lot of households when my mom was growing up where people didn’t have money because beans and macaroni were cheap and so was canned tomatoes so it made a lot and served a lot of big families. My mom’s is thicker and not soupy. I just recently made it because mom is 90 and has bad knees so she doesn’t cook much anymore and it was almost as good as her’s. No one cooks as well as mom does!
Thanks for giving us the chance to win something. I love your blog and I’ve made some of your recipes. Gotta start pulling out the crock again!
